DIVERSA is a film festival of LGBTT interest (lesbian/ gay/ bisexual/ transgender/ transsexual).

We know that there are a lot of people eager to watch queer cinema, a cinema with which we identify, a cinema that is closer to us, that shows us new aspects of culture that may enrich our lives. And this has become evident in the high number of attendees to various films of gay interest recently screened in Buenos Aires. There are many people who need to look at themselves on the screen, to look at their peers, and thus understand life a bit better. This is the public we hope will find their place in our Festival.

Our aim is to gather all kind of national and foreign films and videos. We will screen films from other countries never shown here before. We also wish to provide a space for all Argentine productions. We know there are many local productions available at the time and that there are many others being developed; this Festival will offer them an appropriate place for their exhibition.

In addition to our cinematographic objective, we wish this event to be an opportunity to meet each other. We welcome everyone to the Festival. You do not have to be LGBTT to come and watch the films. We want everyone to participate and help create a relaxed and attractive environment. The focus of this event is Diversity, both in the content of the films and in the public we hope to meet together.

The Festival will last 10 days approximately, and it will be held during the LGBTT Pride Week, celebrated in Buenos Aires in November. This is the first time an event of this kind is carried out in Argentina, and the idea is to hold it every year, showing not only audiovisual material but also adding other types of artistic expressions.

DIVERSA is a fully independent event, generated by people who have been long dreaming of a project of this type, and who decided that instead of keeping on waiting for this event to take place, they'd rather do it themselves.

DIVERSA does not have any political orientation. We are just a group of people at a cultural event who wishes to share part of our world with everyone wishing to come and share theirs with us.
