From the 29 of November to the 3 December DIVERSA International Gay/Lesbian/Trans Film Festival of Argentina was held for the first time in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. It took place in the Municipal Cine Club Hugo del Carril (Bv. San Juan 49) with an attendance of 1200 spectators.

The official inauguration was on 28 November, with the concert of "The Cookers" (Los cocineros), a popular local band, and short films from producers of Cordoba, selected by Cineclub for that occasion. All the tickets were sold, and the people enjoyed the beginning of this unique event in its type, that for the first time opened a cultural space of these characteristics in the Argentine provinces.

The programme included long films and short films from the first edition of DIVERSA made in 2004; movies from France, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Colombia, The United States, Canada, South Africa, Holland, Poland, and of course, Argentina. Among them you could see fiction, documentary, and experimental films.

There DIVERSA took contact with local producers, and organized 4 debates where 70 people participated.

The heterogeneous audience showed its gratefulness for the opening of a space that has long been waited for and that was necessary. DIVERSA organizers were very satisfied with the results of the festival, both in the GLTTBI community, as well as in people dedicated to film; thinking about the possibility to present DIVERSA in Cordoba every year.

DIVERSA CORDOBA 2005 was promoted by the Cordoba Culture Agency, and the organization in Cordoba of Santiago Orsi, Daniel Tortosa and Luis Zárate, working altogether with the directors of DIVERSA, Gabriela Waisman and Iván Fantasia.

The success achieved in this experience, reinforces the desire of DIVERSA to return to Cordoba, and to go along other places in Argentina, to continue opening spaces for the diversity.
